Underscar Manor - Hotel« Back to Questions List

It would appear that the Manor is to be a hotel, a very exclusive one, but a hotel after all. Their website is worth a visit if you'd like to know more - www.underscarmanor.com

Ian can I suggest you look at their website, it may not be in the same guise as the Manor in the days of Pauline and Derek but they are promoting the Manor for the discerning guest, if there is a cost involved then this surely is some form of hotel. It could be a good thing for UOC as this will bring an excellent clientele to the site who may have an interest in the properties too so fingers crossed.

If this is incorrect Ian, could you clarify what the content of their website actually means? Who are they looking to attract to the Manor?

The Manor is a private house and will remain so. They do not have and have not applied for a change of use to a hotel.
I am assured it will not be a hotel

By the amount and size of the raised beds in the garden, they could feed half of Keswick! We watched them being built, then the greenhouse . Makes sense if it is going to be an Hotel , which the website indicates. Have they changed their minds Ian?

Their website appears to differ from that view, it may not be a conventional hotel, but their website alludes to providing accommodation on an individual or group basis, and very much doubt they’ll be providing this free of charge, I have to add, it looks like an amazing experience. Their website states:

………. For those seeking a bed for the night in exceptional, unique and luxurious surroundings, followed by a hearty Cumbrian breakfast, look no further.

Rarely do destinations offer such luxury, peace and such stunning views.

The Manor is available to guests on an individual basis or for exclusive small parties.

For those seeking a more bespoke service, we are delighted to offer The Manor Experience which we believe is unique to this part of the country.

Our aim is to offer a relaxed home from home, combined with 24 hour personal assistance.

Every individual’s guest experience is specifically-tailored to meet their every need. Whether this is pre-choosing your own dining and drinks choices, to personally-guided Lake District experiences, we spare no expense in ensuring our guest’s individual needs are met.

A comprehensive pre-visit checklist is sent to every guest prior to booking to ensure we match your expectations as closely as possible. ……

The plus side it could be good for re-sales!!
