Underscar Manor home or hotel?« Back to Questions List

Is anyone aware of what the manor is to be used for. Their website alludes to a hotel? Does anyone know for sure? http://www.underscarmanor.com/

It would appear that the Manor will be a hotel after all.

Underscar Manor will remain a private residence that will host house guests.

Our property is on the market at the moment (and has been for a number of years) – I’ve spoken to them today and sales are being further impacted by the increase in management costs. We’re contemplating taking legal advise on being bulldozed into decisions that are detrimental to us and other members.

Add to that Julie the fact that Dial an Exchange have no star rating system for exchange, so the five star status goes unrecognised by those seeking occasional exchanges elsewhere (one of the reasons some purchased to provide extra flexibility to their timeshare package) There appear very few ”like-for like” exchange options of similar 5 star status quality on DAE’s books. So different from those who purchased in the early days (prior to DAE) when 5 star rating exchange options were available through another company.

I would have preferred it to have been a hotel. That way we may have had more potential purchasers for the timeshares as it was in the very early days. At present, we literally can’t give weeks away due to very poor marketing and the high management fees.

Thanks Peter, they referred to ”guests” on their website so wondered if this would be more ”family / friends” or whether it was to be more commercial. Thanks for the clarification.

Hi Julie and Anne, I have been advised by the owners of the Manor that they have no intention of applying for planning permission to convert the property back in to a hotel. Best wishes, Peter Allen

The detail contained in this Manor website, especially the section on restoration, has the potential to highlight the wonderful aspect and neighbouring property that our Underscar development benefits from, which should, if incorporated effectively in our Underscar website, has the potential to hopefully increase sales and rentals.
Are the marketing team aware of this and how do they plan to ”use” this opportunity to lift the profile of our timeshare development?
