Sorry to report that the current underscar website appears to work to the greater benefit of Heart of the Lakes instead of Underscar owners which is quite extraordinary. No wonder owners are struggling to gain rentals let alone sales!
When you click on rentals you are directed to Heart of the Lakes website which when you click on "availability" directs you to a screen which has headers such as "special breaks" and " available this weekend" which then identifies a whole host of properties available elsewhere.
This should never have been designed this way as it totally detracts away from Underscar lodges. None of the other timeshares in the Lakes appears to compromise owners in this manner, so why has this occurred with Underscar? How long has this been allowed to happen?
Underscar website should be just as the name implies I.e. rentals and sales for Underscar with no redirection to competing properties. when existing rentals remain unrented or unsold.
Are owners aware of this major compromising problem? And more importantly who on the committee gave approval and failed to recognise the impact on owners desperately seeking improvements for sales and rentals over many years, which has culminated in the current accumulation of unsold properties and lodges remaining unrented.
We are all compromised by this situation which needs addressing as a matter of urgency.

I’ve raised the same concerns about the website and offered to help, simply to be told that the matter was under review and no help was wanted. I despair and fear for the future of Underscar with a Board that refuses to meaningfully interact with owners or take any proactive steps. They simply have the ”we must be 5*” mantra |

This is the issue that I’m also raising Annie – there is no direct access to be able to see WHAT you may be renting or buying – it’s all getting very tiresome. The Board are busy people apparently and don’t access these message boards on a regular basis and whilst I can understand we all lead busy lives, if you’re representing a group of people’s interest, it would be kind of nice to have someone keeping a regular eye on this message board to offer help and support if requested. |

One solution would be to alter the current online system to automatically promote other weeks available for rent within Underscar whenever the requested week is unavailable, rather than direct interested parties away from Underscar. |

Has anyone from the Committee/Board addressed this particular question yet… is there anyone out there?!! This is pertinent for us this year as we’ve been attempting to rent out our week (44) and still no takers as of today, or indeed part week. It’s not a problem as we’ll revert to plan B and take it ourselves but it’s not what we ideally wanted to do. With annual fees now reaching ridiculous levels there’s no way we would leave it empty and I’d rather give to family etc. There must therefore be a marketing problem and perhaps this has been identified here by Anne Simpson but clearly not resolved or even being understood by the Board as an issue. |
