The Location

Keswick, the vibrant centre of the Northern Lakes, is barely 2 miles away, half an hours’ brisk walk or 5 minutes in the car. Keswick gives you access to good supermarkets, a range of independent shops and national chains plus the full range of restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Underscar is a peaceful oasis of calm. It’s the ideal place to relax and recharge before embarking on excellent walking (and cycling) direct from your door; whether you are up for the Skiddaw climb, a full day low level hike over to Threlkeld (with an excellent pub lunch) and back, an evening ramble to the top of Latrigg for the phenomenal view or just want to wander a mile or two down to Applethwaite to pick up some eggs and milk from the local farm. With comfortable seating and a contemporary design, our bistro is the perfect place to relax and unwind, you’ll always be greeted by a friendly face and a calm atmosphere.

Whinlatter is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties. The car park space is some 50 yards distance from the entrance to Whinlatter. Internally the apartment is not suitable for people who have difficulty climbing stairs as the accommodation is spread over 2 floors

Once your final payment has been received, you will be sent an email requiring information about all members of your party, the likely time of your arrival and whether you wish to request additional linen or equipment. Access to the apartment is only possible after these details have been received.

Check-out by 10am.
Keys are picked up and returned to main reception, open 7.30am to 9.30pm daily.
Smoking and vaping are not allowed on any part of the site.
No animals/pets are allowed on any part of the site.
No barbecues are allowed on the site.

Cots, high chairs, stair gates: available upon request, best ordered when you book your cottage or give our reception team a call on 017687 75544. Please be aware that you will need to provide your own linen for travel cots.

Parking: All of our apartments have one allocated parking space. Additional parking can be found outside the Reception area at a cost of £3.00 per night. EV chargers are just outside the main entrance to The Spa at Underscar.

Underscar is for owners a quiet site and generally owners and guests are expected to respect this aspect of the site and particularly keep noise to a minimum after 11pm. Children under 16 should be under the care of parents or a responsible adult at all times when they are on the site.
