Hi, Are there any plans to create charging points for electric cars in the Owners car park ? Thank you.

Agree with Mark Sidaway on this. We recently installed a Pod Point charger at home. Even with separate work by an electrician to enhance the electric supply the total cost was well below £1000. This estimate looks poor value for money.

There’s no doubt EV points are a good addition and I know everyone’s pre-occupied with 5 star status but crikey these must be the most expensive you can get – are they gold plated? They in no way should cost over £4000 each and plus there’s a £300 Government Grant available as well – we’re back to the are we getting best bang for our buck argument again! Should you be interested my wife is happy to put you in touch with a national installer who has put in several across her company offices at considerable less cost than this.

The Board of UOCL decided in 2019 to install electric charging points at Underscar. The plan was for 2 EV points to be placed in the car park outside the Reception Area and Spa. The estimated cost is £8700. This work was planned for early 2020 and reported in the January 2020 newsletter.

The COVID -19 emergency has led the Board to carefully consider all expenditure at Underscar. The EV points are a good Green benefit to owners with electric cars. If the cash flow allows, we plan to look at installation in the early spring of 2021. We do not need to wait for shutdown weeks. Mary Sackree, UOCL Board Member
