Following the success of the Red Squirrel Story Sack comes the Woodland Story Bag.
Maria Blakeley – Underscar owner, red squirrel advocate, blog writer and photographer – has kindly and cleverly put together another fun and educational pack containing a tree house and six finger puppets. The hope is adults in the family will enjoy playing with these as much as the youngsters.
Maria’s favourite finger puppet is the fox. With your fingers fitting into his front paws (see photo opposite) he can be used in very creative play. All the finger puppets can be used together with a book entitled ‘Squirrels Busy Day’. The bag also contains a ‘Woodland Life Spotter’s Guide’ which can be used alongside a leaf identification swatch.
After a woodland adventure near Keswick, perhaps a visit to the Underscar Woodland Walk or Dodd Wood, it is hoped that families will enjoy delving into the story bag. In Dodd Wood the Red Squirrel Ranger is often present and loves to answer any questions on the woodland and woodland animals.
Sticking with the woodland theme, some extras have been added to the bag: a red squirrel soft toy, a red squirrel jigsaw, six woodland stencils and drawing pad, a photo book of the Underscar Woodland Walk and finally, ‘That’s not my Squirrel’ touchy feely book.
You can find the Woodland Story Bag displayed at the Underscar reception desk. You can reserve the bag should you wish to use it during your stay.
Enjoy your woodland walks everyone!
