In spite of stormy and blustery weather to challenge us in January and February, the snowdrops did not disappoint, soon to be followed by daffodils and crocus. The nights are getting lighter, and the lambs are in the fields. It will soon be bluebell season!

Keswick Mountain Festival 2022 20-22 May – Early Bird Tickets now available.
The Festival in the Outdoors brings music, food, sport and general joy to Keswick for a weekend.
Keswick Museum – Open Daily from 10am-4pm
Housed in an original Arts & Crafts house on the edge of Fitz Park and a 5 minute walk from the Moot Hall in Keswick. Its collections reflect life in Keswick and here you can as find out more about the story of the lesser-known Poet laureate: Robert Southey (also the author of Goldilocks and the Three Bears!).

Betty’s Back!: The work of James and Betty Durden will be a 1920s extravaganza, centred around the return of star painting ‘Betty’ by James Durden – the largest in the Museum’s collection at six foot tall. Visitors will experience the full Roaring 20’s experience, and the spirit of the Jazz Age. Betty’s Back! will explore James’s life and works in the context of the 1920s, when the portrait was painted, and will also reveal artwork by Betty Durden Green for the first time. Until 22 May 2022

Back after a 2 year break, a challenging and thought-provoking festival, with plenty of opportunities for discussion and debate. This 6 days of talks with some of the best thinkers, writers and commentators in the country in one of the most beautiful theatres right next to Derwentwater.

A raucous comedy featuring live music, The Glee Club was so successful it transferred to the West End shortly after its premiere in 2002.Five hard-working, hard-drinking miners and a church organist are rehearsing frantically for the local gala. This is the Glee Club, and though they’ve played their share of working men’s clubs, they’re not exactly the vanguard of a musical revolution. But this is the summer of ’62. Britain and music are about to change forever. And so are the lives of these six men.

Bringing you the best of world and independent cinema, Keswick Film Festival will be showing over 25 films at our three venues – Keswick’s Alhambra Cinema, Theatre by the Lake and The Rheged Centre.

This amazing all-ticketed and well-organised event is a community effort, creating mountain art by lining the spine of the mountain with head torches at night. The chosen charities so far have been the much needed Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs.
